March 29. 2026 (Sunday) - our first PATC Tournament  2026

 

We will be changing the format of the club tournament this year. It is the format we’ve used at the Eichler club for many years, where a number of PATC members have participated in the past.

These tournaments are more social than competitive—a way to let our best talents shine, but giving every player at every level a chance to play until the end and win a prize.

 

The Play

Each team is made up of four players of four different levels (A,B,C,D), with teams set up days before by a three-member panel. Depending on the sign-ups, we would have four, five or six teams. Sets are designed so that doubles players(paired within one level of each other) have similar-level opponents from another team. There will not be repetition of the same four players in a set.

 

We play six no-ad sets of eight games per set, which take about 30 minutes each. Each team scores one point for each game won, after all sets the team with the most points wins. 

 The play begins at 9AM (warm-up eat 8:30, depending on court availability) and ends around 12 noon, with lunch and drinks to follow. Lunch and game balls are provided by the club.

Entry fee is $10 per member, $20 for guests. Guests can participate only when invited by a member, 4 guests maximum in all, unless we are short of players. 

 

The Prizes

Winners receive gift certificates from Town and Country Tennis. Each winning team member gets a prize.

Extra-

An inter-club tournament may replace the September date, or a fourth date may be added. As this would likely be a more competitive event, the opposing team/club could set the format.
